DIRECTIONS TO VALLEY MILL , RILEY'S LOCK, and Anglers Inn
WHITEWATER KAYAKING LESSONS take place at Anglers in Potomac MD. Meet across from the Old Anglers Inn at 10801 Macarthur Blvd., Potomac MD. You will meet at the Valley Mill Kayak School trailer that will be parked in one of the three parking lots across form Anglers Inn Restaurant.
Calm Water Tours take place at RILEY'S LOCK. (Directions at bottom of page)

SUP LESSONS MEET AT VALLEY MILL CAMP at the kayak shop. Where is the THE KAYAK SHOP?= . The Kayak Shop is down in the woods behind the main office on the Valley Mill Camp property. FOLLOW THE "BOAT SHOP" SIGNS If you are facing the mail office, there is a gravel road off to your right with an orange kayak tied to a tree next to it, then follow those "Boat Shop" signs until you see the building with the kayak over the door.
Follow the directions on how to get to Valley Mill Camp below. DO NOT USE GPS DEVICES !!!!!! They may take you to the WRONG location.
PARKING- Once at Valley Mill, PARK by the main office (the Main Office is normally closed on weekends), then walk down the gravel road to the right (as you face the main office) FOLLOW THE "BOAT SHOP" SIGNS until you see a brown building with a kayak over the door. Please DO NOT park on the road to the shop, or on the soccer field.

TO GET TO VALLEY MILL-FROM BETHESDA, DC/VA
From the 495 Beltway, take Exit 39 River Road, Rt 190 west towards Potomac MD
Drive west on River Rd. about 12 miles till you come to a stop sign( it will look like River Road ends)
Make a right turn at that stop sign (onto MD-112/Seneca Rd),
Go 7 tenths of a mile and look for the Valley Mill Camp sign on the left
(turn left at second entrance)
VALLEY MILL KAYAK SHOP IS DOWN IN THE WOODS BEHIND THE MAIN OFFICE!
Follow the "Boat Shop" signs
PARK by the main office and WALK down to the kayak shop down the gravel road marked with the orange kayak, the gravel road to your right(as you’re facing the main office) . You will then see a building next to the outdoor pool.
Look for the building with the kayak over the door-down in the woods near the kayaks that's the Kayak Shop, and the meeting place for the SUP1 lessons.
TO VALLEY MILL FROM GERMANTOWN AND POINTS NORTH
Take 270S towards Washington DC
Take the MD/Germantown Exit 15B
Merge onto MD 118S/Germantown Rd via Exit 15B towards Germantown
Continue on Rt 118 until it ends at Rt 28
Turn Left onto route 28/Darnestown Rd.
Turn Right onto Seneca Rd (near the Harris Teeter)
Drive down Seneca Rd. about 2.1 miles
Look for the wooden Valley Mill Camp sign on your right (it can be hard to see the sign! If you pass River Rd, you have missed us)
Enter the lot and park by the main office. Then walk down the gravel road to the right marked by the orange kayak.
The Boat Shop is down in the woods behind the main office near the outdoor pool
Look for the kayaks!
PARKING at VALLEY MILL
Please park in one of the gravel lots by the main office and WALK down to the kayak shop down the gravel road marked with the orange kayaks,follow the "Boat Shop" signs down the gravel road to your right(as you’re facing the main office) . Look for the building with the kayak over the door- that's the Kayak Shop, and the meeting place for the Intro to SUP lesson.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE ROAD THAT LEADS TO THE SHOP, OR ON THE SOCCER FIELD

From Washington DC and the 495 Capital Beltway
From 495- Take exit 39 to merge onto MD-190 W/River Rd toward Potomac W
Go 12.2 miles on River Rd until you come to a stop sign( It will appear that River Rd ends)
Take a left turn at the stop sign onto River Rd. (extension)
Go 0.7 of a mile and take the first left onto Riley's Lock Rd
Proceed down Riley's Lock Rd until you see a parking area on the left side of the road across from the BOAT LAUNCH AREA. Look for the Valley Mill Kayak School Trailer and your instructor who will be waiting for you in the parking area. If you reach the dead end on Riley's Lock Rd- you have gone too far.
